The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Clint Blount received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Genaro Steward tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 10 minutes into the game, St. James FC's Clint Blount nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Genaro Steward made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Christopher Eason fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wakeeney FC's protests and gave Christopher Eason a yellow card for diving instead. After 13 played minutes Wakeeney FC got a freekick which was hit by Christopher Eason. St. James FC's Gerard Solomon quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Benito Bain, made in the 14th minute of the game. Jackson Fuller's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Pete Costello skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Pete Costello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Finley in the 22nd minute of the match. After 26 minutes of play, St. James FC's Daryl Swanson made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Genaro Steward was left in no man's land by his defense there! 29 minutes into the match, Wakeeney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Clint Blount came free, but Genaro Steward reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jackson Fuller's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pete Costello was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. When Daryl Swanson fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored St. James FC's protests and gave Daryl Swanson a yellow card for diving instead. Daryl Swanson kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, St. James FC's Clint Blount got a free kick in the 42nd minute. 45 minutes into the game, Kerry Dickey cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Genaro Steward was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half St. James FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jackson Fuller to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jackson Fuller in the 53rd minute of play forced St. James FC's goalkeeper Pete Costello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Kerry Dickey kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Genaro Steward. That made the score 0-4 in the 56 minute of play. In the 61st minute, St. James FC's Kerry Dickey ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Genaro Steward. Genaro Steward yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. In the 73rd minute Jackson Fuller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pete Costello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pete Costello didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Wakeeney FC's Jackson Fuller shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-5 in the ordered_time% minute. Ned Frye hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. A collision led to St. James FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Daryl Swanson hit a great ball. Pete Costello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedict Chacon in the 95th minute of the match. St. James FC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Wakeeney FC's much stronger midfield.
