The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vince Luther recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Healdsburg's Rolland Wesley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vince Luther in the 7th minute of play. In the 9th match minute, Healdsburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thad Riggs to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thad Riggs during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th minute, Thad Riggs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tyrone Kenny didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geoff Haines went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After 31 played minutes Devon Romano could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 2-1 into the left cross. In the 36th minute, Vince Luther left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mohnton fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Vince Luther fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolland Wesley having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Vince Luther notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Healdsburg's Rolland Wesley. Rolland Wesley was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vince Luther received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Rolland Wesley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Devon Romano was the one to do the kick off. Fernando Malone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Rolland Wesley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Vince Luther had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Devon Romano in the 63rd minute of play forced Mohnton's goalkeeper Tyrone Kenny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Healdsburg's Rolland Wesley got control of the ball when Fernando Malone tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rolland Wesley didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 67th minute, which inside left pole to 2-5. If Fernando Malone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. In the 93rd match minute, Healdsburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geoff Haines to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 94 minutes, Fernando Malone managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mohnton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernando Malone was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rolland Wesley made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vince Luther in the 96th minute. If Vince Luther had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mohnton's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
