After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Ross Randolph managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wellston AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ross Randolph was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Desmond Flint breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. New Iberia AFC's Rex Hutchins suffered a sore thigh after 10 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Scotty Sheppard fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wellston AFC's protests and gave Scotty Sheppard a yellow card for diving instead. After 11 played minutes Wellston AFC got a freekick which was hit by Scotty Sheppard. Merrill Reagan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ethan Fair sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ross Randolph fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wellston AFC's protests and gave Ross Randolph a yellow card for diving instead. Whitney Kendrick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Desmond Flint tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee ignored New Iberia AFC's protests and gave Ethan Fair a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th minute, Ethan Fair hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Whitney Kendrick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute, Whitney Kendrick ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Desmond Flint was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ross Randolph fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Desmond Flint having to interfere. Ross Randolph received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Desmond Flint tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, Whitney Kendrick had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Desmond Flint. New Iberia AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Whitney Kendrick was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ross Randolph was the one to do the kick off. When Merrill Reagan came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the New Iberia AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Merrill Reagan couldn't finish the play. Cory Dudley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merrill Reagan in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Lazaro Keene hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 57 minutes of play New Iberia AFC's Ethan Fair was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 62 minutes into the game, Chuck Lay was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. New Iberia AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wellston AFC the free kick. A collision led to New Iberia AFC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Chuck Lay hit a great ball. Chase Landry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. New Iberia AFC's Joe Bowser got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 83 minutes into the match, Whitney Kendrick had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Desmond Flint. New Iberia AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Whitney Kendrick was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. In the 93rd match minute, New Iberia AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vaughn Reyes to maneuver through the defense. Ross Randolph struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Desmond Flint didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wellston AFC. Chuck Lay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cory Dudley having to interfere. Wellston AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
