Spectators: 7880 (Terracing: 5911, Seating: 1812, VIP seats: 157) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nicky Neal got the match started through his kick off. After 7 minutes of play, LA CLIPPERS's Cason Conner made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zane Dickens was left in no man's land by his defense there! 11 minutes into the match, Houston FC's goal looked a bit too open when Quincy Tillman came free, but Zane Dickens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. LA CLIPPERS's Brent Wilcox suffered a sore foot after 12 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 12 minutes into the game, Laurence Cardoso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Houston FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LA CLIPPERS the free kick. In the 13th minute, Laurence Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zane Dickens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quincy Tillman in the 14th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in LA CLIPPERS's zone, Nicky Neal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geoff Walton came out of the goal and Nicky Neal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cason Conner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Zane Dickens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cason Conner got free with Zane Dickens in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Houston FC's Nicky Neal in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye LA CLIPPERS's goalie prevented a goal. Freddie McNamara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geoff Walton having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicky Neal in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Geoff Walton saved LA CLIPPERS from getting behind. If Cason Conner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Quincy Tillman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zane Dickens read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Zane Dickens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daren Seay in the 40th minute of play. If Daren Seay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Nicky Neal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Houston FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicky Neal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geoff Walton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geoff Walton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Freddie McNamara in the 46th minute of the match. After 47 minutes, Freddie McNamara made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. LA CLIPPERS's Geoff Walton tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When Fabian Koenig came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Houston FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabian Koenig couldn't finish the play. 60 minutes into the match, Houston FC's Freddie McNamara broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Cason Conner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Houston FC booed when LA CLIPPERS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilbur Farr didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute, Freddie McNamara made a precise shot to the right of Geoff Walton. LA CLIPPERS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Freddie McNamara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geoff Walton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Geoff Walton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicky Neal in the 70th minute of play. Nicky Neal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Geoff Walton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daren Seay scored 2-2 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zane Dickens, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daren Seay during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Houston FC booed when LA CLIPPERS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daren Seay didn't get a good kick on the ball. Houston FC's Zane Dickens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Quincy Tillman in the 85th minute of play. Geoff Walton made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Freddie McNamara sent off a good shot on target. Zane Dickens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quincy Tillman in the 88th minute of the match. Zane Dickens came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by LA CLIPPERS's Cason Conner. But to his dismay, Cason Conner quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
