Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfredo Di Stéfano in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bob Hyatt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Misinformed Buffalo's Craig Velazquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steve Van Clynenbreugel in the 5th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Misinformed Buffalo's goal looked a bit too open when Nerio Lopez de Toro came free, but Craig Velazquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nerio Lopez de Toro in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Craig Velazquez saved Misinformed Buffalo from getting behind. Misinformed Buffalo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nerio Lopez de Toro got free with Craig Velazquez in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 65th minute, Tuan Eubanks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eli Fournier in the 68th minute of play forced ACC Mavericks's goalkeeper Bob Hyatt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nerio Lopez de Toro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Misinformed Buffalo lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
