A collision led to C. A Chipa y Terere getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Amado Garcez hit a great ball. In the 19th minute Vilmar Heidemann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pavel Janko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Made in Paraguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jaume Navaes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Vilmar Heidemann scored 1-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pavel Janko, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vilmar Heidemann was the one to do the kick off. C. A Chipa y Terere's Pavel Janko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vilmar Heidemann in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute of the match Made in Paraguay got a corner. C. A Chipa y Terere's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gonzo Maradona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Oscar Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xosé Bacquet, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Made in Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Xosé Bacquet came free, but Oscar Cordoba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. C. A Chipa y Terere's Pirmin Zornoza was substituted for Cortez Beloki. Made in Paraguay made a substitution. Ramone Betancur replaced Adriano Verdejo. Pavel Janko stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vilmar Heidemann's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. Vilmar Heidemann struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Rafinha Brasil charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafinha Brasil the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
