Hudson Ribeiro hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, Arne Iten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Borussia Dortmund's 姚战桑 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vilmar Heidemann in the 18th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Greger von Opel. After 40 minutes, Zbyszko Kapinos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Borussia Dortmund and the Made in Paraguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Levander stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpected shot in the 54th minute by Amato Almaguer got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 姚战桑 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vilmar Heidemann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Made in Paraguay's Amato Almaguer got a free kick in the 68th minute. Blanco Cotilla got a throw-in 70 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Vilmar Heidemann. In the 72nd match minute, Made in Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amato Almaguer to maneuver through the defense. 姚战桑 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vilmar Heidemann, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 85th match minute, Borussia Dortmund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Astor Odol to maneuver through the defense. Made in Paraguay made a substitution. Roque Santa Cruz replaced Vilmar Heidemann. The supporters of Made in Paraguay booed when Borussia Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Astor Odol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Made in Paraguay's attentive Ramone Betancur managed to snatch the ball when Hudson Ribeiro made a throw-in in the 91st minute of the game. In the 92nd minute, Roque Santa Cruz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 94 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Hudson Ribeiro. Roque Santa Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Made in Paraguay supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Made in Paraguay would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
