With a couple of smart ball manuevers Costel Novăceanu in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Quentin Kendrick saved Fly T.T from getting behind. After 14 minutes Fly T.T's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hipólito Zambujal who took care of the corner kick. Stanley Santos made a great header on CFR Sibiu's corner, it was just that Fly T.T's Quentin Kendrick managed to reach the ball for a save. The corner ended in Curt Weyermann almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but CFR Sibiu's Cristo Nofre did a great save. In the 76th minute Bertrand Glass shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristo Nofre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristo Nofre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucien Walls, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The audience was convinced that Bertrand Glass's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristo Nofre was relentless in the 91st minute of the game.
