Lia Engraba started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pero Barrutia in the 4th minute of play forced Artigas's goalkeeper Colon Tordomar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Velasco Rollan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Colon Tordomar. Artigas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Velasco Rollan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, Sociedad Anónima's goal looked a bit too open when Lia Engraba came free, but Gianluigi Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gianluigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florentino Fidalgo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gianluigi Buffon came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Artigas's Celso Mesa. But to his dismay, Celso Mesa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Artigas's Colon Tordomar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Velasco Rollan in the 16th minute of play. Gianluigi Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Mesa in the 19th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Esteban Sustrai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes in the game Xano Villerias did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Esteban Sustrai. Sociedad Anónima's Gianluigi Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saturnin Sanches in the 27th minute of play. In the 27th match minute, Sociedad Anónima was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lleir Santiso to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute of the match, Pero Barrutia tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Colon Tordomar saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Horia Groza hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Velasco Rollan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Colon Tordomar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. With his leg Colon Tordomar managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when Sociedad Anónima's Velasco Rollan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Xano Villerias made in the 40th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Celso Mesa.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pero Barrutia to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Lia Engraba reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gianluigi Buffon. The goal made the score 1-2. In the 57th minute Lleir Santiso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Colon Tordomar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gianluigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Esteban Sustrai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valentin Monteagudo was slow to take the kick. During this time Artigas's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Artigas's Valentin Monteagudo to fire away a dangerous shot which Gianluigi Buffon despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Gianluigi Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lia Engraba in the 72nd minute of play. In the 72nd minute Lia Engraba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gianluigi Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Artigas's goal looked a bit too open when Velasco Rollan came free, but Colon Tordomar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Artigas's Xano Villerias managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Sengrat Nazario in the 83 minute of the game. In the 89th minute Velasco Rollan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Colon Tordomar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Artigas's Colon Tordomar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marino Malet in the 97th minute of play. The Artigas players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
