Matías Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. André Luís Vides breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gualter Cardozo hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute, Mazinho Vianna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Piraputangas's goalkeeper André Luís Vides, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geovânio de Lara during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Fluminense getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Geovânio de Lara hit a great ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Cauan Guedes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fluminense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cauan Guedes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Fluminense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. The referee ignored Fluminense's protests and gave Perivaldo Batista a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 minutes of play Fluminense's Perivaldo Batista was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Perivaldo Batista hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Francisco Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aílton Santana in the 71st minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, Fluminense's goal looked a bit too open when Aílton Santana came free, but Francisco Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee ignored Fluminense's protests and gave Cauan Guedes a yellow card for diving instead. The Piraputangas fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Fluminense were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
