An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Luís Lima in the 7th minute of play forced HAPPY NEW YEAR MZC's goalkeeper Rubens Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Zé Augusto Queiroz managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when HAPPY NEW YEAR MZC's Amauri Varela fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 12 minutes into the match, Ruilandia AD's goal looked a bit too open when Luan Rodrigues came free, but Zé Augusto Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute Sílvio Luís Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubens Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sílvio Luís Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the HAPPY NEW YEAR MZC defense, Henrique Coutinho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rubens Pena. The HAPPY NEW YEAR MZC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rubens Pena should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amauri Varela got free with Zé Augusto Queiroz in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Henrique Coutinho sped through HAPPY NEW YEAR MZC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rubens Pena. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Henrique Coutinho in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rubens Pena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Natanael Salles kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Amauri Varela could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Zé Augusto Queiroz made a huge save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Luan Rodrigues made the kick off in the second half. HAPPY NEW YEAR MZC's Luan Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 53 played minutes Ruilandia AD got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Jacinto. A collision led to Ruilandia AD getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Hélio Nogueira hit a great ball. 55 minutes into the match, HAPPY NEW YEAR MZC's Gilson Mattos broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 58 minutes into the match, HAPPY NEW YEAR MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Coutinho came free, but Rubens Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, HAPPY NEW YEAR MZC's goalkeeper Rubens Pena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sílvio Luís Lima. Rony da Costa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 64th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Zé Augusto Queiroz. Ruilandia AD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ruilandia AD's Zé Augusto Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amauri Varela in the 67th minute of play. Sílvio Luís Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Pena having to interfere. But to his dismay, Sílvio Luís Lima quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 85th minute of the match Joaquim Alvarenga shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rubens Pena showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With his leg Rubens Pena managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Ruilandia AD's Sílvio Luís Lima fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 97th minute, Nuno Simões hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ruilandia AD walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
