After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Alfredinho Urbano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paranapolis's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredinho Urbano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Paranaense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Paranapolis fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Paranapolis's Túlio Magalhães looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Paranapolis's Alfredinho Urbano in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye E.C. SERRASUL's goalie prevented a goal. 23 minutes into the game, Kléberson Silva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. E.C. SERRASUL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paranapolis the free kick. Carlos Paranaense came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Paranapolis's Túlio Magalhães. But to his dismay, Túlio Magalhães quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Carlos Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredinho Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Paranapolis's Túlio Magalhães got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Paranaense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredinho Urbano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of E.C. SERRASUL booed when Paranapolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinícius Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Paranaense came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Paranapolis's Túlio Magalhães. But to his dismay, Túlio Magalhães quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Carlos Paranaense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredinho Urbano in the 48th minute of play. After the first half Paranapolis were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind E.C. SERRASUL's goalkeeper Carlos Paranaense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredinho Urbano got free with Carlos Paranaense in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Túlio Magalhães in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Paranaense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carlos Paranaense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Túlio Magalhães in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Túlio Magalhães in the 70th minute of play forced E.C. SERRASUL's goalkeeper Carlos Paranaense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Paranapolis's goal looked a bit too open when Kléberson Silva came free, but Falcão Barral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Túlio Magalhães, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredinho Urbano got free with Carlos Paranaense in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 80th minute, Paranapolis's Túlio Magalhães ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Carlos Paranaense. Carlos Paranaense yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. When Paranapolis's Túlio Magalhães in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye E.C. SERRASUL's goalie prevented a goal. 90 minutes into the match, E.C. SERRASUL's goal looked a bit too open when Túlio Magalhães came free, but Carlos Paranaense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paranapolis's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
