If Alfredão Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serafim da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléberson Silva in the 13th minute of play. Júlio Tavares kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. The long shot by Davi de Sena in the 17th minute really tested Serafim da Cunha's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Serafim da Cunha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zé Carlos Silveira went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Cariuacanga's Anselmo Rezende got a free kick in the 30th minute. Serafim da Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kléberson Silva in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 37th minute, Zé Carlos Silveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Serafim da Cunha was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Alfredão Vaz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Paranaense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Alfredão Vaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfredão Vaz to make the kick off. A collision led to E.C. SERRASUL getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Murilo Félix hit a great ball. Anselmo Rezende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Paranaense having to interfere. Anselmo Rezende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Serafim da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléberson Silva in the 62nd minute of play. Alfredão Vaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Serafim da Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kléberson Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Anselmo Rezende struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Carlos Paranaense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cariuacanga. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Romeu Guimarães during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 72nd minute, Romeu Guimarães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Rezende, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute.
