After some careless play in the Olindina FC defense, Ademar Alvarenga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Evandro Paulista. The Olindina FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Evandro Paulista should have stopped the shot. Olindina FC's Evandro Paulista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Montenegro in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th match minute, Olindina FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dagoberto Marquez to maneuver through the defense.
