The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luís Falcão was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marquinhos Motta got free with Dorival Arruda in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Guaxima's zone, Luís Falcão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Alagoano came out of the goal and Luís Falcão tried to chip the ball over his head. Tarcisio Cruz, 56 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 60thth minute of the game Naldo Tavares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GALÁTICOS's Dorival Arruda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 62nd minute Naldo Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorival Arruda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 63 played minutes Guaxima got a freekick which was hit by Naldo Tavares. In the 65th minute of the match, Naldo Tavares tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dorival Arruda saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Samuel Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GALÁTICOS's protests and gave Samuel Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. Samuel Nascimento hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 66 minutes into the match, Guaxima's Frédson Quirino broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 69 minutes into the game, Fernandinho de Godoi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Felippe Souto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Dorival Arruda made a huge save. Fernandinho de Godoi kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Dorival Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Naldo Tavares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 77th minute of the game. One of Guaxima:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of GALÁTICOS:s goal. In the 79th minute there was a penalty for GALÁTICOS. Tarcisio Cruz stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Edgar Alagoano. 1-3. Dorival Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Naldo Tavares in the 83rd minute of the match. Samuel Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. GALÁTICOS's Fernandinho de Godoi got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edgar Alagoano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Falcão in the 89th minute of play. Dorival Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Naldo Tavares in the 90th minute of play. Guaxima's Edgar Alagoano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Falcão in the 95th minute of play. Luís Falcão might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edgar Alagoano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Falcão ran back to his position shaking his head. Guaxima's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
