The tension between the Torreao and the Ana Terra players grew even worse after the yellow card. João Moreno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anderson Diniz having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Ana Terra's Roberto Xavier sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hernani Bezerra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ulisses Barros during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Moreno in the 17th minute of play forced Ana Terra's goalkeeper Anderson Diniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 46th minute João Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anderson Diniz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valério Faria made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Wanderson Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anderson Diniz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anderson Diniz came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Torreao's João Moreno. But to his dismay, João Moreno quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. 93 minutes into the match, Ulisses Barros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hernani Bezerra. Torreao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ulisses Barros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-5. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Torreao walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
