With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Paiva in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelinho Corrêa saved New Colorado from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Paiva in the 24th minute of play forced New Colorado's goalkeeper Marcelinho Corrêa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eurico Linhares ran back to his position shaking his head. 42 minutes into the match, New Colorado's goal looked a bit too open when Laerte de Castro came free, but Marcelinho Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcelinho Corrêa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laerte de Castro in the 45th minute of the match. Marcelinho Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fernando de Toledo in the 48th minute of play.

The wind increased when Paulo Paiva made the kick off in the second half. Nelson da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamim Nunes having to interfere. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcelinho Corrêa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
