But to his dismay, Paulo Paiva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 10th match minute, WAU team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Paiva to maneuver through the defense. When Sailor FC's Emil Kornecki in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye WAU team's goalie prevented a goal. In the 13th minute, Fernandão Lopes made a precise shot to the right of Sidnei Vidal. Sailor FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 18 minutes into the game, Laerte de Castro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. WAU team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sailor FC the free kick. The supporters of Sailor FC booed when WAU team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laerte de Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Sailor FC's Benjamim Nunes threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Emil Kornecki, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Sidnei Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fernando de Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 22 minutes of play, WAU team's Luiz Fernando de Toledo made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sidnei Vidal was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Sailor FC's zone, Paulo Paiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sidnei Vidal came out of the goal and Paulo Paiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulo Paiva might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sidnei Vidal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo Paiva ran back to his position shaking his head. Sidnei Vidal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Paiva in the 33rd minute of play. Sidnei Vidal came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by WAU team's Luiz Fernando de Toledo. But to his dismay, Luiz Fernando de Toledo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Sidnei Vidal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Paiva in the 41st minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, WAU team's Paulo Paiva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sidnei Vidal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Luiz Fernando de Toledo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Sidnei Vidal made a huge save. In the 53rd minute, Luiz Fernando de Toledo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sidnei Vidal. The goal made the score 0-5. Sailor FC's Sidnei Vidal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Sailor FC from getting a goal against them. Sidnei Vidal made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Paulo Paiva sent off a good shot on target. Luiz Fernando de Toledo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71st minute, João Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Luiz Fernando de Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sidnei Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fernando de Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute Luiz Fernando de Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidnei Vidal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte de Castro in the 83rd minute of play forced Sailor FC's goalkeeper Sidnei Vidal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sailor FC's Sidnei Vidal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Sailor FC from getting a goal against them. 84 minutes into the match, Paulo Paiva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sidnei Vidal. Sailor FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo Paiva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Sidnei Vidal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fernando de Toledo in the 87th minute of the match.
