The referee ignored SANTOS F.C's protests and gave Décio Leme a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Décio Leme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the game, Mané Bittencourt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sailor FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SANTOS F.C the free kick. Mané Bittencourt hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, SANTOS F.C's Waldir Vargas tried to score from far away in the 18th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Toninho Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. SANTOS F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Toninho Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sidnei Vidal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 22 played minutes Gino Toscano rounded Sailor FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. In the 25th minute, Emil Kornecki made a precise shot to the right of Ediberto Berger. SANTOS F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Mariano Berenguer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ediberto Berger having to make a save. SANTOS F.C's Ediberto Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emil Kornecki in the 42nd minute of play. When Sailor FC's Emil Kornecki in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Duarte Bittencourt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Toninho Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Vidal having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Emil Kornecki managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sailor FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Emil Kornecki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mané Bittencourt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74thth minute of the game Emil Kornecki who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SANTOS F.C's Ediberto Berger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Toninho Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomás Barral got free with Ediberto Berger in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
