Spectators: 7408 (Terracing: 5758, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Emil Kornecki got the match started through his kick off. Edmundo da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilton Pereira having to interfere. Sandro Vieira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 6 minutes into the match, Álvaro Simão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sidnei Vidal. Sailor FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Álvaro Simão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 10 minutes of play, Sailor FC's Tomás Barral made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilton Pereira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wilton Pereira stood somewhat misplaced when Emil Kornecki came free in front of goal and shot 2-1 to the left of him in the 14 minute. Viracao's defense didn't have a chance, in the 20th minute, when Tomás Barral scored to the left of an out of position Wilton Pereira, making the score, 3-1. Wilton Pereira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomás Barral in the 27th minute. If Emil Kornecki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Sandro Vieira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sidnei Vidal was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. When Dário Messias came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Viracao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dário Messias couldn't finish the play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Álvaro Simão was the one to do the kick off. When Mané Bittencourt fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sailor FC's protests and gave Mané Bittencourt a yellow card for diving instead. Mané Bittencourt hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Celso Trigo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sidnei Vidal. Sailor FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Álvaro Simão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 66 minutes into the match, Viracao's goal looked a bit too open when Emil Kornecki came free, but Wilton Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Álvaro Simão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Vidal having to interfere. After 68 played minutes Sailor FC got a freekick which was hit by Mané Bittencourt. After 72 played minutes Sailor FC got a freekick which was hit by João Varela. Sailor FC's Sidnei Vidal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Álvaro Simão in the 75th minute of play. Viracao were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Sailor FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Celso Trigo took the corner. Celso Trigo made a great header on Viracao's corner, it was just that Sailor FC's Sidnei Vidal managed to reach the ball for a save. Álvaro Simão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Vidal having to interfere. Wilton Pereira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emil Kornecki in the 81st minute of play. Paulão Siqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilton Pereira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emil Kornecki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The attack was good, but when Álvaro Simão in the 94th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Viracao's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
