The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Dorival Alvarenga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Gustavo Gustavson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of New Joinville - FSCMZ booed when Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabrício Dionísio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dorival Alvarenga scored 2-0 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gustavo Gustavson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Gustavo Gustavson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save New Joinville - FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. 21 minutes into the match, New Joinville - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Gustavo Gustavson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dorival Alvarenga. In the 30th minute, Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF's Dorotheos Kakatsios ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gustavo Gustavson. Gustavo Gustavson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind New Joinville - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Gustavo Gustavson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Dorival Alvarenga dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gustavo Gustavson, 4-0. After 40 played minutes New Joinville - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Guga Velasco. Gustavo Gustavson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dorival Alvarenga went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Gustavo Gustavson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorival Alvarenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dorival Alvarenga was the one to do the kick off. In the 50th minute, Nicolas De la Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Gustavo Gustavson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorival Alvarenga in the 51st minute of play. Gustavo Gustavson came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF's Dorival Alvarenga. But to his dismay, Dorival Alvarenga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Fabrício Dionísio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Gustavo Gustavson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabrício Dionísio in the 60th minute of play forced New Joinville - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Gustavo Gustavson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF's Dorival Alvarenga looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 66th minute Dorival Alvarenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Gustavson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dorival Alvarenga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustavo Gustavson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. 69 minutes into the game, Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF's Dorival Alvarenga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gustavo Gustavson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. When Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF's Henry Eklund in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans Egfelt in the 76th minute of play forced New Joinville - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Gustavo Gustavson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustavo Gustavson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorotheos Kakatsios in the 78th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Xande Koeman during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. New Joinville - FSCMZ made a substitution.
