DIEGO's Ture Harlén played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Higinio Abeita in the 18th minute of play. In the 18th match minute, DIEGO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaudencio Poncio to maneuver through the defense. Uriel Pueblo succeeded in the game's 22nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. The supporters of Sonata Arctica booed when DIEGO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uriel Pueblo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anacleto Eusko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ture Harlén made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anacleto Eusko in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, DIEGO's goal looked a bit too open when Anacleto Eusko came free, but Ture Harlén reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Sonata Arctica's Anacleto Eusko sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ture Harlén narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 47th minute Anacleto Eusko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ture Harlén saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victorino Quintyn in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Enzo Harkaitz saved Sonata Arctica from getting behind.
