The audience thought a goal was coming when Fidel Canor got free with Eusebio Shantala in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eusebio Shantala made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Guaberto Lalla sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fidel Canor in the 13th minute of play forced Emilia's goalkeeper Eusebio Shantala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Guaberto Lalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eusebio Shantala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fidel Canor in the 16th minute of play. Emilia's Eusebio Shantala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fidel Canor in the 19th minute of play. In the 24th match minute, Emilia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeo Nataniel to maneuver through the defense. If Fidel Canor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute Fidel Canor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebio Shantala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emilia's Eusebio Shantala proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Emilia from getting a goal against them. Emilia's Eusebio Shantala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fidel Canor in the 40th minute of play. Eusebio Shantala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Canor, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The supporters of Winifreda booed when Emilia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeo Nataniel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Emilia's zone, Guaberto Lalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusebio Shantala came out of the goal and Guaberto Lalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Prospero Darien to strike the kick off in the second half. Amadeo Nataniel fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 59th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. In the 63rd minute Fidel Canor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebio Shantala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fidel Canor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Eusebio Shantala tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Emilia getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Rafael Min hit a great ball. After having played for 71 minutes, Fidel Canor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Winifreda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fidel Canor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Winifreda getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Herminio Quintun hit a great ball. In the 77th match minute, Emilia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeo Nataniel to maneuver through the defense. Fidel Canor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Eusebio Shantala tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Fidel Canor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eusebio Shantala was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Winifreda's Guaberto Lalla got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Winifreda players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
