Orlando Caton came out of the goal and Aristides Baristo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 18th minute, Aristides Baristo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pepillo Castañiza was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Rene Buinton capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rene Buinton really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Orlando Caton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Aureo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Orlando Caton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Aureo in the 37th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rene Buinton to strike the kick off in the second half. After 81 minutes, Mateo Dubardo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rayo Futbol Club and the Tocala y Picá players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tocala y Picá's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
