An unexpected shot in the 21st minute by Bernardo Sancho got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 25 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de Bragado's Joaquin Chumo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juan Abeita narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 40 minutes of play, Estudiantes de Bragado's Lino Rocio made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juan Abeita was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Estudiantes de Bragado were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cipriano Jax stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Estudiantes de Bragado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baldomero Mateo to maneuver through the defense. Bernardo Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavio Guter having to interfere. Cipriano Jax might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Octavio Guter. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cipriano Jax ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 64th minute, Marcelino Fliz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joaquin Chumo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Juan Abeita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee showed Ulises Ourente the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Ulises Ourente got a free kick in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Joaquin Chumo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juan Abeita. Independiente's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joaquin Chumo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. If Joaquin Chumo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lino Rocio came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Estudiantes de Bragado fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lino Rocio couldn't finish the play. In the 97th minute, Leopoldo Lia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Estudiantes de Bragado walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
