In the 10th minute, Hilario Silbestre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emilio Alvarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Isaias Lugo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Venancio Nisio kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Dionisio Raitin hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Roberto Macario didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ambrosio Firman went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Isaias Lugo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Alvarez, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Roberto Macario stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hilario Silbestre's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. 35 minutes into the game, Hilario Silbestre lined in a short shot 2-1 behind a frustrated Roberto Macario. The supporters of canarios AFC booed when RIVER PLATE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Venancio Nisio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mauro Celipe in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Isaias Lugo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emilio Alvarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Isaias Lugo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Hilario Silbestre made the kick off in the second half. If Ambrosio Firman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in canarios AFC's zone, Ambrosio Firman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roberto Macario came out of the goal and Ambrosio Firman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to canarios AFC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Nicolas Bela hit a great ball. Roberto Macario took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hilario Silbestre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the match, canarios AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Hilario Silbestre came free, but Roberto Macario reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to canarios AFC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Tadeo Guillelmus hit a great ball. Hilario Silbestre blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roberto Macario having to make a save. If Ambrosio Firman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by canarios AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Adrian Tulio was slow to take the kick. During this time RIVER PLATE's players had a chance to rest. The corner led RIVER PLATE's Adrian Tulio to fire away a dangerous shot which Roberto Macario despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Emilio Alvarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Roberto Macario came out of the goal and Hilario Silbestre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Hilario Silbestre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. RIVER PLATE walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
