Spectators: 7263 (Terracing: 5449, Seating: 1670, VIP seats: 144) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Edgard Cordario started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute Ambrosio Firman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Betadur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Edgard Cordario's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Isaias Lugo was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Alter Ego's Gustavo Betadur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hilario Silbestre in the 7th minute of play. Ambrosio Firman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gustavo Betadur having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isidoro Manny got free with Isaias Lugo in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 18 played minutes RIVER PLATE got a freekick which was hit by Venancio Nisio. After 21 minutes of play, RIVER PLATE's Hilario Silbestre made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gustavo Betadur was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 33 minutes, Edgard Cordario managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alter Ego's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgard Cordario was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Isaias Lugo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Cordario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edgard Cordario struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Isaias Lugo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alter Ego. Edgard Cordario fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaias Lugo having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Hilario Silbestre made the kick off in the second half. Isaias Lugo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Manny in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Venancio Nisio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. RIVER PLATE's Isaias Lugo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Cordario in the 59th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in RIVER PLATE's zone, Edgard Cordario stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isaias Lugo came out of the goal and Edgard Cordario tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ambrosio Firman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Betadur having to interfere. Alter Ego's Edgard Cordario got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Venancio Nisio hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Isaias Lugo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Manny, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute, Edgard Cordario ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Isaias Lugo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 83rd match minute, Alter Ego was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anastasio Amaya to maneuver through the defense. Ambrosio Firman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Gustavo Betadur made a huge save. Isaias Lugo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Cordario, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. After having played for 91 minutes, Hilario Silbestre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RIVER PLATE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hilario Silbestre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Alter Ego getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Jairo Maties hit a great ball. Hilario Silbestre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Betadur having to interfere. If Isidoro Manny had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
