Cannabis THC's Modesto Faro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hilario Silbestre in the 19th minute of play. With an all-out effort, RIVER PLATE's Modesto Faro threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hilario Silbestre, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gervasio Su received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Isaias Lugo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Modesto Faro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hilario Silbestre in the 56th minute of play. Hilario Silbestre blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Modesto Faro having to make a save. Cannabis THC's Filomeno Orain got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 65 minutes into the game, Emiliano Ortle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RIVER PLATE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cannabis THC the free kick. In the 65th minute, one of RIVER PLATE:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for RIVER PLATE. In the 71st minute Hilario Silbestre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Modesto Faro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gervasio Su fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaias Lugo having to interfere.
