Cesar Luke was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Peñarol FC booed when Bermejo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amador Gai didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Bermejo's Simon Hernandez got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Leo Oskarbi struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Guido Edorta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peñarol FC. Cesar Luke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacobo Vidal, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Tomás Edorta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomás Edorta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tomás Edorta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesar Luke having to interfere. Jacobo Vidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Cesar Luke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Bermejo booed when Peñarol FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Tomi didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Mariano Tavio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Guido Edorta came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Peñarol FC's Mariano Tavio. But to his dismay, Mariano Tavio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Guido Edorta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Tavio in the 77th minute of the match. Jacobo Vidal scored 1-2 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cesar Luke, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 84 minutes into the match, Peñarol FC's goalkeeper Cesar Luke had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacobo Vidal. 90 minutes into the match, Peñarol FC's Mariano Tavio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guido Edorta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 92 minutes into the match, Bermejo's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Oskarbi came free, but Guido Edorta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bermejo played a much better game than Peñarol FC and deserved their victory. The Peñarol FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
