The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnaldo Barros during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 8 played minutes Caldera got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Barros. Damian Sendoa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto Medero, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eriberto Medero in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Damian Sendoa saved DRJ from getting behind. After 16 played minutes Caldera got a freekick which was hit by Arsenio Ricart. After having played for 22 minutes, Eriberto Medero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caldera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eriberto Medero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Caldera booed when DRJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabio Chaime didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute of the match Gregorio Llope sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Damian Sendoa skillfully saved the ball. Isidro Abadie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Ulises Esiquio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Isidro Abadie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eriberto Medero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Damian Sendoa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. In the 81st match minute, DRJ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julian Bernal to maneuver through the defense. After 83 minutes of play, DRJ's Severino Lluc made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ulises Esiquio was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Eriberto Medero came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Caldera fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eriberto Medero couldn't finish the play. Eriberto Medero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arsenio Ricart received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Damian Sendoa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Eriberto Medero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arsenio Ricart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, DRJ could leave the field as winners, despite Caldera having more of the ball for most of the match.
