ViCeNzA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. İlyas Özkılıc ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in İlyas Özkılıc almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but ViCeNzA's Sergio Livingstone did a great save.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Matías Hernández to make the kick off. Cristian Lucchetti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matías Hernández in the 51st minute of play. Rosario Central's Cristian Lucchetti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clodoveo Cayo in the 65th minute of play. Cristian Lucchetti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matías Hernández, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 72 minutes into the match, Rosario Central's goal looked a bit too open when Matías Hernández came free, but Cristian Lucchetti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sergio Livingstone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tostão de Queirós in the 74th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Matías Hernández's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristian Lucchetti was relentless in the 76th minute of the game.
