Arrecifes's Güney Mengüalp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elias Chico in the 43rd minute of play. After taking down the ball on Mística Pincharrata's corner Geronimo Ekialde fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Güney Mengüalp quite easily take care of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elias Chico was the one to do the kick off. After 79 played minutes Arrecifes got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Chumo. Güney Mengüalp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justino Loramendi, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute.
