Seating: 1842, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Duncan McPhedron took the kick off in the first half of the match. Willie McVeagh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miles McFarquhar, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Miles McFarquhar struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Willie McVeagh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ventnor. Willie McVeagh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miles McFarquhar in the 20th minute of play. Shaun Frissell's late challenge caught a Colintraive's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Shaun Frissell helped the player get up and apologised. Shaun Frissell kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. When Kieran Lewis came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Colintraive fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kieran Lewis couldn't finish the play. Ben Bontein could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Willie McVeagh made a huge save. A collision led to Colintraive getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Colin McHowell hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miles McFarquhar in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Willie McVeagh prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Willie McVeagh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miles McFarquhar in the 31st minute of the match. The supporters of Colintraive booed when Ventnor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shaun Frissell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miles McFarquhar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Willie McVeagh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Willie McVeagh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miles McFarquhar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Miles McFarquhar made the kick off in the second half. When Ventnor's Miles McFarquhar in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Colintraive's goalie prevented a goal. If Miles McFarquhar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chris Moray hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Ben Bontein recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Miles McFarquhar notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Colintraive's Willie McVeagh. Willie McVeagh was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Duncan McPhedron fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Colintraive's protests and gave Duncan McPhedron a yellow card for diving instead. In the 70th match minute, Colintraive was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duncan McPhedron to maneuver through the defense. Willie McVeagh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ben Bontein, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute Miles McFarquhar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willie McVeagh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miles McFarquhar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willie McVeagh having to interfere.
