Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With splendid footwork Angus Bayne arrived in front of goal to shoot 2-0 by the left pole in the game's 17th minute. Angus Bayne struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Blair Armitage didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Gordon Newtown. In the 29th minute Angus Bayne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blair Armitage saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Aaron McSwen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angus Bayne struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. When Angus Bayne came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the FC Gordon Newtown fans jumped to their feet. The wind increased when William Cessford made the kick off in the second half. After 56 minutes, Reece Turner mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Gordon Newtown and the Milltimber FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 59 minutes, William Cessford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Milltimber FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but William Cessford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 60 played minutes Milltimber FC got a freekick which was hit by Gavin Alder. Blair Armitage showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron McSwen, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Milltimber FC's zone, Angus Bayne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Blair Armitage came out of the goal and Angus Bayne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 68 minutes into the match, FC Gordon Newtown's Angus Bayne sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Blair Armitage narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aaron McSwen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blair Armitage having to interfere. If Angus Bayne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ross Nixon during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Milltimber FC's Ross Nixon got a free kick in the 78th minute. Aaron McSwen struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Aaron McSwen scored 4-0 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Blair Armitage, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Blair Armitage stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Angus Bayne's shot from short distance in the 99th minute. There was no doubt that FC Gordon Newtown were the better team. FC Gordon Newtown's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
