Barroosky
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when John McLiam got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute, Bressail McJohnny hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Barroosky's Cacey Callaghan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ryan Bayes in the 5th minute of play. After 8 minutes of play, Tuam's Blanche McGlenn made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cacey Callaghan was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 13 minutes, Aaron Frankson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barroosky's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aaron Frankson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cacey Callaghan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jack Caffey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Barroosky's Britt Beckett ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Beckett. Jonathan Beckett yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After a rather tough play, Tuam's Blanche McGlenn got a free kick in the 22nd minute. A collision led to Barroosky getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Reilly Ghee hit a great ball. Cacey Callaghan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ryan Bayes in the 27th minute of play. After 30 minutes, Bressail McJohnny mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barroosky and the Tuam players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 played minutes Barroosky got a freekick which was hit by Bressail McJohnny. Jonathan Beckett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Britt Beckett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the game, Jack Caffey cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Cacey Callaghan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 40th match minute, Barroosky was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reilly Ghee to maneuver through the defense. Emmet McPaul took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cacey Callaghan. Barroosky's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Caroll McPhil hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Cacey Callaghan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jack Caffey in the 43rd minute of play. Jonathan Beckett made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Britt Beckett sent off a good shot on target. Cacey Callaghan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ryan Bayes in the 47th minute of the match. The Barroosky players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tuam were winning 1-2.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Britt Beckett to make the kick off. Jonathan Beckett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaron Frankson in the 52nd minute of play. The supporters of Barroosky booed when Tuam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blanche McGlenn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Beckett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Britt Beckett in the 54th minute of the match. In the 55th minute Britt Beckett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Beckett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Beckett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Frankson, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After some careless play in the Tuam defense, Britt Beckett kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Beckett. The Tuam fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Beckett should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by John McLiam in the 67th minute of play forced Barroosky's goalkeeper Cacey Callaghan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Barroosky getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Thurl McCready hit a great ball. Jonathan Beckett came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Barroosky's Britt Beckett. But to his dismay, Britt Beckett quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Aaron Frankson struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Jonathan Beckett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barroosky. After 95 played minutes Tuam got a freekick which was hit by Blanche McGlenn. The Barroosky players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
