Gordon Moran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casey McJohn having to interfere. After some careless play in the Drink Team defense, Aaden Cooney kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Casey McJohn. The Drink Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Casey McJohn should have stopped the shot. Casey McJohn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaden Cooney, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The supporters of Raferagh booed when Drink Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darick Willson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Casey McJohn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fergal Martyn in the 20th minute of play. Baird McJohn was a little too slow when Conn McStephen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 1-1. 33 minutes into the match, Raferagh's Aaden Cooney sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Casey McJohn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Drink Team's Casey McJohn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaden Cooney in the 36th minute of play. Casey McJohn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaden Cooney in the 37th minute of play. Aaden Cooney took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Casey McJohn. Casey McJohn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Fergal Martyn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Casey McJohn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gordon Moran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Drink Team players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Raferagh were winning 1-2.

A collision led to Drink Team getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Breandan Savic hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Drink Team's zone, Fergal Martyn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Casey McJohn came out of the goal and Fergal Martyn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Aaden Cooney put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Casey McJohn. Baird McJohn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conn McStephen in the 63rd minute of the match. Aaden Cooney came free with the goalkeeper in the 65th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Casey McJohn could save by the left post. Drink Team's Casey McJohn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Drink Team from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Cahir Delaney took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Casey McJohn to make any attempt to save it. In the 79th minute, Cian Brennan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Fergal Martyn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Raferagh's supporters rose to their feet, but Fergal Martyn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Casey McJohn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Drink Team's Casey McJohn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Drink Team from getting a goal against them. After 85 played minutes Drink Team got a freekick which was hit by Finian Beckett. After a defensive mix-up in Drink Team's zone, Donegan Cronin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Casey McJohn came out of the goal and Donegan Cronin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gordon Moran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 93 minutes into the game, Gordon Moran recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Casey McJohn. Gordon Moran showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. Raferagh played a much better game than Drink Team and deserved their victory. The Drink Team players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
