Spectators: 6841 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 0) 8 minutes into the match, Beary McGlenn dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gearalt Barrett, 1-0. In the 11th minute, Dermot Jameson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 13 minutes into the match, Dermot Jameson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Coran Doyle. Drom Utd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dermot Jameson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Dermot Jameson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donoghue Ramsey during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Donoghue Ramsey hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Dermot Jameson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Coran Doyle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dermot Jameson to make the kick off. The supporters of Drom Utd booed when Cork was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donoghue Ramsey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cork's Gearalt Barrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Begley Murphy in the 58th minute of play. In the 60th minute Dermot Jameson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Coran Doyle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dermot Jameson charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dermot Jameson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 63rd minute, Dermot Jameson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Drom Utd's Coran Doyle got control of the ball when Dermot Jameson tried to sneak it across the goal line. 69 minutes into the game, Roy McCollion was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Drom Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cork the free kick. After 69 played minutes Drom Utd got a freekick which was hit by Roy McCollion. Cork's Berke McOliver got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Dermot Jameson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 75th match minute, Drom Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Begley Murphy to maneuver through the defense. Dermot Jameson might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Coran Doyle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dermot Jameson ran back to his position shaking his head. Coran Doyle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dermot Jameson in the 88th minute of play. In the 93rd match minute, Cork was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Devlin Moran to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute Ros McDecland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gearalt Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Dermot Jameson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cork's supporters rose to their feet, but Dermot Jameson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Coran Doyle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Cork players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
