Huey Holland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Spike Gough in the 11th minute of the match. Huey Holland was a little too slow when Isac Askestät got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 13th minute. The score was now 1-0. Penrith City's Huey Holland proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Penrith City from getting a goal against them. Robin Herring showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leigh Falkingham, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. A collision led to Penrith City getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Chris Forrest hit a great ball. Spike Gough fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Huey Holland having to interfere. Gus Younger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Penrith City's Huey Holland got control of the ball when Spike Gough tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Gus Younger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gus Younger's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Huey Holland read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play.

Gus Younger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vernon Proctor struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Huey Holland didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wootton Bassett. Jo Woodier kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After having played for 62 minutes, Isac Askestät managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wootton Bassett's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isac Askestät was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gus Younger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Huey Holland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Huey Holland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isac Askestät, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Penrith City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Spike Gough was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Penrith City's goalkeeper Huey Holland, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Iain Bilton kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Gus Younger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wootton Bassett's supporters rose to their feet, but Gus Younger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Huey Holland breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Huey Holland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Spike Gough, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. There was no doubt that Wootton Bassett were the better team. Wootton Bassett's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
