The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Mikla got free with Miroslav Motuz in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 4th minute Orhan Veli Mirac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Orhan Veli Mirac scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Doriva Reis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 11th minute Ján Krempašský shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute of the match, Pa-Dembo Bumbac tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Miroslav Motuz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Stano Štoch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miroslav Motuz having to interfere. Miroslav Motuz made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Daniel Mikla sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of V.K.DRINK Hermanovce booed when FC XY was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Håkan Granström didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Daniel Mikla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. V.K.DRINK Hermanovce's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Mikla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ján Krempašský hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. V.K.DRINK Hermanovce's Daniel Mikla managed to work through FC XY's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Daniel Mikla dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. 33 minutes into the match, FC XY's goalkeeper Miroslav Motuz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stano Štoch. Doriva Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orhan Veli Mirac in the 34th minute of the match. Martin Lukáč hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute Martin Janko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miroslav Motuz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

FC XY's Gabriel Ižvolt was substituted for Ján Krempašský. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Mikla made a kick off.
