Joacim Hök struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Rickard Martinsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vårby Gård FC. In the 11th minute, Adrian Albom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 20 played minutes IFK Oskarshamn got a freekick which was hit by Ture Zachrisson. After a defensive mix-up in IFK Oskarshamn's zone, Sven-Olof Josefsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rickard Martinsson came out of the goal and Sven-Olof Josefsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rickard Martinsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joacim Hök in the 27th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, IFK Oskarshamn's goalkeeper Rickard Martinsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sven-Olof Josefsson. In the 36thth minute of the game Börge Brandin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vårby Gård FC's Leo Pihlwall was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Börge Brandin in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leo Pihlwall prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joacim Hök to strike the kick off in the second half. When Vårby Gård FC's Axel Åman in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye IFK Oskarshamn's goalie prevented a goal. Börge Brandin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 58 played minutes Vårby Gård FC got a freekick which was hit by Oskar Hegg. Leo Pihlwall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from George Boström, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Leo Pihlwall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from George Boström in the 65th minute of play. In the 68th match minute, IFK Oskarshamn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fritz Eliasson to maneuver through the defense. Rickard Martinsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Olof Josefsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Joacim Hök's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rickard Martinsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joacim Hök in the 73rd minute of play forced IFK Oskarshamn's goalkeeper Rickard Martinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bo Näfver during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vårby Gård FC! The goalkeeper, Leo Pihlwall, was totally fooled by IFK Oskarshamn's Gilbert Waller, who 80 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Boström in the 96th minute of play forced Vårby Gård FC's goalkeeper Leo Pihlwall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Joacim Hök had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. IFK Oskarshamn walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
