In the 9th minute, Ivar Nilsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sverker Vennerdal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erland Ahlgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ernst Rudberg scored 1-0 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sverker Vennerdal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Erland Ahlgren might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sverker Vennerdal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Erland Ahlgren ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Klövsjö BK booed when Busby Babes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rickard Dalgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute Zebastian Pihl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sverker Vennerdal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erland Ahlgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Sverker Vennerdal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erland Ahlgren in the 24th minute of play forced Klövsjö BK's goalkeeper Sverker Vennerdal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sverker Vennerdal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Olof Kullander went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erland Ahlgren in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sverker Vennerdal saved Klövsjö BK from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Busby Babes's Erland Ahlgren slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sverker Vennerdal. That made the score 3-0 after 34 minutes of play. Börje Forss's late challenge caught a Busby Babes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Börje Forss helped the player get up and apologised. After 36 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Klövsjö BK! Klövsjö BK's Sverker Vennerdal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Klövsjö BK from getting a goal against them. 45 minutes into the match, Klövsjö BK's goal looked a bit too open when Erland Ahlgren came free, but Sverker Vennerdal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Olof Kullander to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Klövsjö BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Ingvall to maneuver through the defense. Sverker Vennerdal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erland Ahlgren in the 84th minute of play. Karl-Ove Utfal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There was no doubt that Busby Babes were the better team. Busby Babes's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
