Bernt Säfström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Torbjörn Månsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. When Urban Fagrell fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Team-A's protests and gave Urban Fagrell a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Vännäs BK booed when Team-A was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urban Fagrell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Björn Isaksson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute, Vännäs BK's Bernt Säfström dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernt Säfström in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Torbjörn Månsson saved Team-A from getting behind. After having played for 33 minutes, Bernt Säfström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vännäs BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernt Säfström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erik Gunnarsson made a kick off. Bernt Säfström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torbjörn Månsson having to interfere. Torbjörn Månsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernt Säfström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Team-A's zone, Bernt Säfström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Torbjörn Månsson came out of the goal and Bernt Säfström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Björn Isaksson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Torbjörn Månsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Björn Isaksson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torbjörn Månsson having to interfere. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Team-A's goalkeeper Torbjörn Månsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Bernt Säfström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Erik Gunnarsson came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Team-A fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erik Gunnarsson couldn't finish the play. Torbjörn Månsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Björn Isaksson, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. If Björn Isaksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernt Säfström in the 77th minute of play forced Team-A's goalkeeper Torbjörn Månsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Torbjörn Månsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Arne Pihlblad in the 80th minute of the match. Team-A's Torbjörn Månsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernt Säfström in the 82nd minute of play. In the 85th match minute, Team-A was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Walroth to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute, Björn Isaksson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Torbjörn Månsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Bernt Säfström kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. There was no doubt that Vännäs BK were the better team. Vännäs BK's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
