But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christoffer Elg couldn't finish the play. In the 21st minute Torsten Hylander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joacim Sundin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was Codruț Capisizu who took care of the corner kick. Pär Lindholm's late challenge caught a Balkan FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pär Lindholm helped the player get up and apologised. After 45 played minutes Göteborg 1904 got a freekick which was hit by Pär Lindholm.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Codruț Capisizu made a kick off. Joacim Sundin made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Christoffer Elg sent off a good shot on target. Codruț Capisizu took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hugo Orlando Gatti. After 64 played minutes Göteborg 1904 got a freekick which was hit by Roland Holmberg. The supporters of Göteborg 1904 booed when Balkan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rikard Sandström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Codruț Capisizu struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Hugo Orlando Gatti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Göteborg 1904. Joacim Sundin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Folke Bokelund, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
