Jos Maseland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nathan Veldman made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Jos Maseland sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Zandspui getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Leon Spiering hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Jos Maseland could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Nathan Veldman however easily saved by the left post. Zandspui were furious when Leon Spiering was red carded, 22 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 23rd match minute, Zandspui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leon Spiering to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, AJAX AMSTERDAM's Nathan Veldman threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ronny Medgyesi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 27th minute, AJAX AMSTERDAM's Roelof Kroon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nathan Veldman. Nathan Veldman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Theo Zondervan charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Theo Zondervan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Zandspui getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Theo Zondervan hit a great ball. Jos Maseland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nathan Veldman having to interfere. Daniel Peters came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Zandspui's Francesco Cramer. But to his dismay, Francesco Cramer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Francesco Cramer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Zandspui's goalkeeper Nathan Veldman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jos Maseland. After having played for 40 minutes, Francesco Cramer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zandspui's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francesco Cramer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Peters made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommie de Boer in the 42nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Dimosthenis Giannoulakis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zandspui's supporters rose to their feet, but Dimosthenis Giannoulakis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Peters breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Ronny Medgyesi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nathan Veldman. That made the score 2-1 in the 45 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Francesco Cramer to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Derk Scheer during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Francesco Cramer who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Daniel Peters when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Paulo Garcia hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Daniel Peters showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francesco Cramer in the 60th minute of the match. Hans Hulzebos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nathan Veldman. Zandspui's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jos Maseland in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nathan Veldman saved Zandspui from getting behind. In the 76th minute, Ronny Medgyesi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gijsbert Ter during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Francesco Cramer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Peters having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francesco Cramer got free with Daniel Peters in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gijsbert Ter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
