The Sorogain fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Feliberto Solo should have stopped the shot. 8 minutes into the match, John Lermo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cordeal Aranzubia. Omar&Laura's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that John Lermo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Edmund Zajonc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Feliberto Solo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edmund Zajonc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pelayo Barbosa scored 1-2 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Feliberto Solo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Feliberto Solo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pelayo Barbosa in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Edmund Zajonc left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Omar&Laura fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. With 26 minutes on the clock, Guido Acarreta commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 26 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Omar&Laura! Omar&Laura:s Cordeal Aranzubia showed great skill when he stopped Frasco Bouzas:s penalty. In the 32nd minute Turi Abad suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 32 minutes, Pelayo Barbosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Omar&Laura and the Sorogain players grew even worse after the yellow card. 31 minutes into the game, one of Omar&Laura:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Cordeal Aranzubia had in the 34thth minute some difficulties stopping Frasco Bouzas's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When Asensio Jimenez fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Omar&Laura's protests and gave Asensio Jimenez a yellow card for diving instead. After 36 played minutes Omar&Laura got a freekick which was hit by Asensio Jimenez. Frasco Bouzas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 37th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cordeal Aranzubia. Omar&Laura's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Edmund Zajonc had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Feliberto Solo. Sorogain's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmund Zajonc was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. After having played for 47 minutes, Edmund Zajonc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Omar&Laura's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmund Zajonc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Sorogain players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Omar&Laura were winning 1-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmund Zajonc to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpected shot in the 57th minute by Edmund Zajonc got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Asensio Jimenez kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sorogain's zone, Fonso Manzano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Feliberto Solo came out of the goal and Fonso Manzano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Omar&Laura's Edmund Zajonc got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 87 minutes into the game, Fonso Manzano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Feliberto Solo. Fonso Manzano showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. The supporters of Omar&Laura booed when Sorogain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fidel Serena didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded Omar&Laura left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sorogain.
