Rayo Virtudes's Sotil Rienda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xesc Rallo in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the game, Roi Abril was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Riemannian's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rayo Virtudes the free kick. After a rather tough play, Riemannian's Roi Abril got a free kick in the 17th minute. Sotil Rienda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xesc Rallo, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. If Xicu Contreras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Griful took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valerio Quintanilla. Valerio Quintanilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 29th match minute, Rayo Virtudes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Barrios to maneuver through the defense. Sotil Rienda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xesc Rallo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Rayo Virtudes players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Riemannian were winning 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Xicu Contreras to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Rayo Virtudes got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Ortega. Sotil Rienda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Franco Jofre in the 55th minute. 57 minutes into the game, Riemannian's Chico Campos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sotil Rienda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Xesc Rallos short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Sotil Rienda to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Xesc Rallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sotil Rienda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Xesc Rallo came free with the goalkeeper in the 71st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sotil Rienda could save by the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xesc Rallo in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sotil Rienda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xesc Rallo in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sotil Rienda saved Rayo Virtudes from getting behind. In the 75th minute of the match Espartaco Castaño sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sotil Rienda skillfully saved the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Rayo Virtudes's goal looked a bit too open when Chico Campos came free, but Sotil Rienda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valerio Quintanilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Griful in the 77th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Xesc Rallo got free with Sotil Rienda in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 86 played minutes Rayo Virtudes got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Barrios. The supporters of Riemannian booed when Rayo Virtudes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Barrios didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Riemannian's Xesc Rallo in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Riemannian would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
