In the 38th minute, Uwe-Jens Bass made a precise shot to the right of Arne Garden. Geraer Füchse e.V.97's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gottlieb Brendel couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Wulf Schaede's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andreas Kappestein was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. 91 minutes into the match, Efraim Spieß had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arne Garden.
