When Valentin Heinrichs came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the LTSC Wasserbillig fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valentin Heinrichs couldn't finish the play. Valentin Heinrichs kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. In the 8th minute, Torben Graf made a precise shot to the right of Volker Bretzel. Meyer Zu Bargholz's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Meyer Zu Bargholz's goalkeeper Volker Bretzel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 13 minutes, Gernot Witty managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meyer Zu Bargholz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gernot Witty was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Sven Aschenbrenner's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Herrmann Kanoneks was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Volker Bretzel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valentin Heinrichs's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Sven Aschenbrenner had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Herrmann Kanoneks. LTSC Wasserbillig's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sven Aschenbrenner was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Volker Bretzel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Bäcker in the 35th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the game, Sven Aschenbrenner recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Herrmann Kanoneks. Sven Aschenbrenner showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. The LTSC Wasserbillig fans' excitement grew in the 43rd match minute when LTSC Wasserbillig's Martin Bäcker looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Herrmann Kanoneks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven Aschenbrenner, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Volker Bretzel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Bäcker in the 48th minute of play.

The wind increased when Martin Bäcker made the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes of play Meyer Zu Bargholz's Helmar Kissling was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Meyer Zu Bargholz's Helmar Kissling got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute Martin Bäcker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Volker Bretzel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gernot Witty sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of LTSC Wasserbillig booed when Meyer Zu Bargholz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Nikisch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Bäcker struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Volker Bretzel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LTSC Wasserbillig. 65 minutes into the game, LTSC Wasserbillig's Martin Bäcker nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Volker Bretzel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. 70 minutes into the match, Meyer Zu Bargholz's goalkeeper Volker Bretzel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valentin Heinrichs. Gernot Witty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Herrmann Kanoneks tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. LTSC Wasserbillig's Herrmann Kanoneks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gernot Witty in the 73rd minute of play. In the 76th minute, Martin Bäcker ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Volker Bretzel was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. 80 minutes into the match, LTSC Wasserbillig's Valentin Heinrichs sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Volker Bretzel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 88th minute, Gernot Witty got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The LTSC Wasserbillig players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
