John Schenkers short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Pablo Schenker to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jeremiah Caluzi kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. John Schenker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, FC Winznau's Pablo Schenker got control of the ball when John Schenker tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 22nd match minute, 1. FC Vatikan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clarence Monney to maneuver through the defense. Jurij Sablone struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Leonello Henseler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Winznau. But to his dismay, Charles Labrie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of 1. FC Vatikan booed when FC Winznau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeremiah Caluzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 29 played minutes FC Winznau got a freekick which was hit by Nicolas Kolb. The audience thought a goal was coming when John Schenker got free with Pablo Schenker in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. John Schenker could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Pablo Schenker made a huge save. A collision led to 1. FC Vatikan getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Patrick Bregenzer hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell John Schenker to make the kick off. In the 53rdth minute of the game John Schenker who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Winznau's Pablo Schenker was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that John Schenker's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pablo Schenker was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. After 86 played minutes 1. FC Vatikan got a freekick which was hit by Ronny Courtemanche. In the 88th match minute, FC Winznau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Colin Marini to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rdth minute of the game John Schenker who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Winznau's Pablo Schenker was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the FC Winznau defense, John Schenker kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pablo Schenker. The FC Winznau fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pablo Schenker should have stopped the shot. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
