Artur Walter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidonius Eisenhauer in the 9th minute of play. If Francois Strebel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 17 played minutes Karakartal JK got a freekick which was hit by Francois Strebel. 20 minutes into the match, Karakartal JK's goalkeeper Artur Walter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Georges Wermelinger. Francois Strebel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonas Lütolf having to interfere. A collision led to AG.S. Rhäzüns FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Georges Wermelinger hit a great ball. If Francois Strebel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Francois Strebel came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Karakartal JK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francois Strebel couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidonius Eisenhauer in the 40th minute of play forced Karakartal JK's goalkeeper Artur Walter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as AG.S. Rhäzüns FC's Sidonius Eisenhauer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Artur Walter. That made the score 1-0 after 41 minutes of play. Francois Strebel struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Jonas Lütolf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Karakartal JK. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
